Intergrated Health Organization (CIHO)

Community Intergrated Health Organization (CIHO) is Ugandan community based organization (CBO) which is nonpartisan, non-government organization which is dedicated to improving medical service delivery of the communities, empowering women to economically be able to look after their families and also to work on issues of climate change and environmental health through tree planting and use of carbon energy and bio gas from agricultural products.

  • The organization was founded in 2009 to serve the local communities of Mbale district in Eastern region of Uganda.
  • It was started by a group of youth, full Ugandan health professionals majorly to ease the accessibility of medical service delivery to the local communities.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

Our Organization ‘s Objectives

  • To spearhead the prevention, sensitization and counseling of the communities about HIV/AIDS
  • To improve on the current trend of maternal mortality and infant mortality rates among our communities through primary health care and good medical service delivery
  • To offer health education and sensitization to schools and institutions in the community regarding reproductive health and other public health aspects
  • To improve on the integrated management of early childhood illness (IMCI) among children below 5 years of age in our disadvantaged communities
  • To offer advice, information and support on good nutritional measures in order to fight malnutrition and its effects in our communities
  • To empower women to improve their social economic status through support to start small business enterprises
  • To improve on our environmental health through climate change adoption and mitigation and encouraging tree planting and bio gas usage
  • To participate in carrying out baseline research on certain medical conditions
